Global Weather Outlook for Rice

The majority of rice producing areas in India is expected to remain dry through Wednesday. Rain and thundershowers could occur at one or two places over Orissa, East Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh through Wednesday. Rainfall activity should increase over Andaman & Nicobar Islands after next 48 hours. Weather would be mainly dry over most other remaining parts of the country through Wednesday.
 
Rain and thundershowers are expected in Vietnam Monday and Tuesday.
 
Weather is likely to remain dry in Bangladesh through Wednesday with partly cloudy sky over the country. A mild to moderate cold wave is sweeping over Rajshahi & Rangpur divisions and the region of Srimangal and it may continue. Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
 
Amoderate high-pressure area from China has extended to Thailand and the South China Sea while the southeasterly winds bring the moisture to the country through Friday.
 
Widely scattered thundershowers and 3-5 °C drops are expected in northern Thailand. More rain and isolated heavy fall are likely in the South Thailand through Thursday.
 
Heavy rains and thunderstorms are expected in some Indonesian states such as the southern part of Sumatera, Java, Bali, Nusa Tenggara, Eastern, and Southern parts of Kalimantan, Central and Southern parts of Sulawesi, Maluku, West Papua, and Central part of Papua through Thursday due to tropical Cyclone IGGY in Hindian Ocean. The rest of country will remain dry.
 
Near normal rainfall in northern and central Brazil will favor the rice crop as their rice sowing is going on. Southern Brazil could receive the rain fall from 0.50 inch to 1.00 inch late this week into the weekend.
 
Eastern Luzon in Philippines will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms through Monday and Tuesday. The rest of Northern Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains while the rest of the country will be partly cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
 
Scattered thunderstorms and heavy rain are expected to occur in some Malaysian states such as Perak, Kedah, Selangor, Malacca, Kuala Lumpur, and Johore through Monday and Tuesday. The storms may cause strong winds and flash floods. Remaining parts of country will remain dry.
